This week's Funny Pastor Trick

For hilarity purposes: 46-year-old Craig Rhodenizer, pastor of a church in Lyndonville, NY, tells his wife he's going to zip on over to Best Buy to get his computer fixed, and goes missing. Two days later, he somehow turns up "disoriented" at a topless bar in Riverside, OH, which Mapquest tells me is a distance of 438.34 miles. Long way to go for a lap dance. Did he think the wife was more likely to find out if he patronized a local "gentlemen's" establishment?

    >said he felt "emotionally guilty."

How else do you feel guilty?

Did he think nobody would notice he was out at Best Buy for DAYS? What's that about?

Yes, actually: if one of his parishioners was there, and told his wife that he "happened to be driving by and you'll never guess who came out", and she told the pastor's wife.

It's been a while since I've participated in church social life, but I gather there's a certain amount of gossip.

(Of course, if everyone in the parish thinks this way, there's a certain risk that they'd all wind up in that strip joint in Ohio.)

If I told my wife that's where I was going, she actually wouldn't expect me back for days. :-)
