Bye, background

Well, the starry background was cool, but somebody told me it was slowing down his browser, so I think it's not that important. Plain colored background it is, then.

Ah, and now we are all pale blue. I feel reason washing over me like a fresh breeze on a clear spring morning!
ReplyDeleteAww man, I really liked that background...
ReplyDeleteCerulean Blue is like a gentle breeze...
ReplyDeleteI was going to protest, but the soft gradient of sky blues is actually rather nice.
ReplyDeleteOh wait, I mean: "Who dared dislike our prophet's background image?!?! We must cleanse them!"
This is why we can't have nice things.
ReplyDeleteBILLions and BILLions of "pale blue dots"... Ok, thousands, but that just isn't as fun.
ReplyDeleteGood. The starry background was seven different kinds of horrible.
ReplyDeleteWon't tell you my opinion of the change in the background of this blog until you update your own blog!
ReplyDeleteIf you're experiencing writer's block, consider that the posts I really draw the most of are those where you tell a story of you and your son, or your father and yourself. Its very instructional to see how you teach your son to value critical thinking.
And if that's too much to ask, then you could just tell us how you've been doing in the SC2 Ladder...
The old image slowed my browser down a little, but also it just looked a bit cheesy to my taste. Loads of atheist-themed sites use starry backgrounds - heck it's almost an internet meme unto itself.
ReplyDeleteAww. I really enjoyed the starry background. Oh well, this looks nice as well.
ReplyDeleteWho knew "somebody" had so much influence!
ReplyDelete'somebody' might be a powerful gravity-well which brings me to the booze and Robo-rally(wild, I know!)-fueled bachelor-party I just left, where the host´s chair contained a powerful distortion in the space-time; people* kept falling over it the entire night, the more intoxication the more influence it seemed to exert on the inebriated party.
ReplyDeleteThe moral of this story is to be wary of anomalous gravity-fields when imbibing obscene amounts of alcohol.
(*it was actually just one guy, a brother of the soon to be unbachelored)
Wait, we get stuff if we complain?
ReplyDeletePerhaps if those few readers out there updated their 486 IBM computers with their 14.4kbps modems, then having a large image as a background wouldn't cause a significantly large decrease in load speed and we could all be basking in the beautiful star-light instead of..."It's a BOY" cigar wrappers.
ReplyDeleteHortan, thanks for reminding me, I actually have a set of Robo-Rally boards. Just pulled out my game box the other day. Now I want to get a bunch of people drunk and make them come over and play. :)
ReplyDeleteMuch better, thanks!
ReplyDeleteAt least, from a distance, I *could* be doing work, rather than reading blogs.
The galactic background? Not so much ;o)
Now I don't have to resize my screen to just the width of the comments to avoid the glare of the boss!
Awesome...
Much better - cheesy background was cheesy.
ReplyDeleteAh thanks very much. Don't know why, but Google Chrome doesn't like static backgrounds on websites that much.
ReplyDeleteSmart move. Now if only you guys would kill/maim/fix the horribly stretched blog logo at the top. Earth is not an egg!
ReplyDeleteCerulean Blue is like a gentle breeze...
ReplyDeleteSince nobody else has done so, and to uphold the geek cred of this blog, I'd like to officially acknowledge this X-Files quote.
meh
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that the background is gone. It was slowing things down for me as well.
