It depends. My parents threatened to kidnap me and bring me back to crazyland. ruth's dad has made threats against her. Some people are simply shunned by their families after they leave.
There is no one "quiverfull" response to people who leave the movement.
It seems that way, because that's how it really is, at least for the mothers/wives. Daughters have a different perspective, but we must still submit to daddy...and basically, for the older ones, end up raising our younger siblings.
It seems like baby-making-bondage, because...it is baby-making-bondage.
The idea is that children are an unmitigated blessing, so you should have as many as possible and raise them up to be good fundies, so that they can help "reclaim" the US...and that the Husband/Father has absolute control and all should submit to him unquestioningly.
