More email fun: "Look at all the trees!" edition

Hello Atheist Experience,

I am sending an email to ask you a question about God's existence.

How, when you look out the window in the morning, can you not say that God doesn't exist?

There must be a bigger force that has created all this beauty. It can't be a coincidence, and science is unable to create such magic.
Science is a conspiracy theory. It is a ;lie by people who are in denial about Christianity.

I would also like to complain about Matt Dillahunty's techniques when confronting us. I find him rude and irrational.

Thank You

You're welcome.

And anyway, we do say that God doesn't exist when we look out the window in the morning (as well as other times). So what this dope is complaining about, I have no idea.

Addendum: So okay, it was a Poe. Still, remember what Poe's Law states: you can't tell. And we've gotten real emails just this wacky. So, nice one.

  1. This is a textbook example of Poe's law, it feels like a joke to me.

  2. Everytime I look at pictures of Jessica Alba, I am convinced of the existence of that goddess...Jessica Alba.

  3. I love it when people complain about science. I then ask them to please give up their car, phone, TV, indoor plumbing, pasteurized milk, medications, etc and go raise or hunt and slaughter their own food. Hypocrites.

  4. In fact, this was a Poe...

I responded, and got a message back that basically said that the author was joking...and that I rock.

Well, PLEASE don't do this to me. I get an insane amount of e-mail already, and plenty of e-mails like this that are completely legit. I don't need to waste time on stuff like this.

At a minimum, you could at least include the "I'm joking" in the original mail (as dozens of people have done). Or, if you really think we rock...you can donate to the ACA. We're all unpaid volunteers and the shows are provided for free and operate off of donations.

Yes, we'll be dealing with a closed studio over the summer - so we're not sure what sort of shows we'll be able to do, but we'll be back in the fall, with all sorts of happy, shiney, new goodness.

  5. "Poe's Law" has a specific meaning, you know. It means: "Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is utterly impossible to parody a Creationist in such a way that someone won't mistake for the genuine article."

Please note that this means that you are not particularly witty or clever if you manage to fool an atheist. It just means that it's really easy, because they parody themselves.

(I'll make an exception for the infamous Microbiologychick/"Eve" call, since that was a deliberate practical joke set up by someone known to all parties involved.)

  6. Question: Will non Prophets still air as usual or is that on hiatus as well?

  7. Haha, I totally called it!

But seriously it reminded me too much of eve's "look at the trees"-prank call so I figured it was a fan of the show homaging that call.

    teh internets never forgets.
