Two children and their mother lived for about two months with the decaying body of a 90-year-old woman on the toilet of their home's only bathroom, on the advice of a religious "superior" who claimed the corpse would come back to life, authorities said Friday...
She said she propped Middlesworth on the toilet and left the room to call [Bishop John Peter] Bushey, who told her to leave the woman alone and pray for her, the complaint said. He said he had received signs that God would raise her from the dead with a miracle.
A mind is a wonderful thing to waste, eh?
So...where did they go to the toilet all that time? No, I don't want to know.
"Why abandoning reason is, like, bad"
ReplyDeleteIt appears the Archbishop of Westminster would beg to differ.
I was reading this post when a commercial for Forensic Files came on. The tag line was "People lie, science doesn't." This seems oddly appropriate here.
ReplyDeleteI heard, correct me if I'm wrong, that people like that doesn't need to use a batroom anyway. Every time they poo, they loose some of their thinking material, so they store it on the upper half of their heads.
ReplyDeletePart of that story said the kids were told they would have to get jobs and go to public school if it was found out that the old lady was dead. Seems to me they panicked that they would no longer be getting her social security checks. Perhaps this is all a big lie so she can claim insanity or something, or they deluded themselves to think this was the real reason they were keeping her death a secret.
ReplyDeleteOr perhaps the superior was getting the checks.
