Here are links to the things I'm reading from on today's episode of The Atheist Experience:

  3. Whenever this topic is discussed, it seems inevitable that one of most powerful statements about "anger" fails to be mentioned (and this makes me angry). All Abrahamic religious texts take the time to share some thoughts about nonbelievers. I'm just going along minding my own business, doing a little reading and all of sudden I'm being told that as a nonbeliever I should at best be viewed as a second class citizen and more disturbingly, that I should be killed. When someone throws an unprovoked swing like that, it's only natural to be upset, angry if you will. I find that starting off with this point often is the best approach. Then other factors (like those discussed on the show) can be layered on to really drive home the point. Not only did they throw the first punch, but they continue to keep swinging. And we're supposed to take it lying down!? Not anymore.
