Plus the Vardy academy stuff in the North East (http://newhumanist.org.uk/1477/schools-for-scoundrels).

Admittedly #2 above is far worse then #1 as the government's been complicit... which is why idiots that have been voted in to govt should leave museums AND schools alone.

Hey ho. The writer adopted the perfect, in my mind, balance of clarity/honesty and respect, without delving into either placation or insults.

Unfortunately, however, I must say I have a sneaking suspicion that this will go nowehere. I've seen, in my 28 years here on this planet, far, far too many examples of reason and truth being subverted by biased and ignorant people, however well intentioned they may (or may not) be, to expect a positive outcome here.

If there does end up being a response letter, I reall,y really hope it gets published again, and posted here for us to read. And if miracles do happen (hehe) and this person's attempt to reason with this fellow is successful, well, it'd be a win for Ireland, reason, and my fragile view of the world, because too many negative outcomes have conspired to make me a jaded and pessimistic (at times) 28 year old.magx01https://www.blogger.com/profile/14831638782847911405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33241741.post-91329847222055367922010-05-29T07:19:31.492-05:002010-05-29T07:19:31.492-05:00I don't think he will listen to anything you h...I don't think he will listen to anything you have to say. If creationism spreads there, and let's face it it's the worst place in the country to spread, well it can reach the rest and then we are in deep trouble. I don't have a good feeling about it.

But the open letter is a great, intelligent reply. But I have little hope McCausland will understand reason.Guillaumehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12376749604845793465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33241741.post-78576117493733254042010-05-28T15:46:46.063-05:002010-05-28T15:46:46.063-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.leonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15902533540032656313noreply@blogger.com
